Free Your Thoughts

Description

Free Your Thoughts is an interactive confession booth, built using the Google Cloud Vision API, pygame and a Raspberry Pi controlled paper shredder. This project is an attempt to make concrete what so often goes unsaid—to bring to light the secrets, the unspoken, the mundane thoughts that we always mean to share but can never quite express. By centering the intensely physical act of shredding, Free Your Thoughts materializes the cathartic act of letting go. In return for their own input, participants can then tap into communal sentiment surrounding their own thoughts—encouraging a sense of solidarity and creating an expressive ecosystem. Free Your Thoughts creates an opportunity for people to go deeper than surface level in a public space by clustering and visualizing people’s thoughts.
